SUMMARY

In "Chicks and Salsa" by Aaron Reynolds, a group of farm animals are tired of their bland and boring diet and decide to spice things up with a festive fiesta. The chickens take charge and whip up a tasty batch of salsa, while the ducks make guacamole, and the pigs made nachos! All the farm animals are finally not eating their boring farm food and are excited to be having their own fiesta! Unfortunately, the farm owners decided to make tamales for the people at the fair and took all the vegetables that the farm animals were using to make their fiesta food. This meant that the animals had to go back to their boring old diets... but while the owners were at the fair the roosters found their way into the kitchen and learned new recipes from a french cook book! Through vibrant illustrations and a humorous storyline, "Chicks and Salsa" introduces children to the concepts of teamwork, problem-solving, and the joy of trying new things.
