SUMMARY

"Corduroy" by Don Freeman is a heartwarming story about a little teddy bear named Corduroy who lives in a department store. He longs for someone to take him home, but because of a missing button on his overalls, no one buys him. One day, a young girl named Lisa falls in love with Corduroy and wants to bring him home. However, Lisa's mother tells her that they don't have enough money to buy Corduroy. Determined to bring Corduroy home, Lisa saves up her own money and returns to the store. She purchases Corduroy and takes him to her loving home. The story emphasizes the power of friendship, kindness, and the importance of embracing one's unique qualities. Corduroy and Lisa's bond reminds readers of the joy and comfort that can be found in unexpected friendships. The book's timeless illustrations and endearing characters have made it a beloved classic in children's literature.
