SUMMARY

"Groundhog Gets a Say" by Pamela Curtis Swallow is an endearing children's book that gives a voice to the often overlooked groundhog on Groundhog Day. The story follows a charming groundhog named Groundhog as he tries to set the record straight about his role in predicting the arrival of spring. Groundhog has an important job, but he's so much more than just a season predicting groundhog! Throughout the book groundhog explains his many other qualities and everything about himself that many others may not know about him. With humor and determination, groundhog takes the reader on an educational journey explaining groundhogs many hidden qualities including their ability to climb trees, along with some useful facts such as where they live and what they eat. Through lively illustrations and engaging text, Swallow's book educates young readers about the interconnectedness of animals and the changing seasons, while celebrating the importance of respecting and appreciating all creatures, big and small.
