SUMMARY

In "Peter's Chair" by Ezra Jack Keats, Peter, a young boy, struggles with the arrival of his new baby sister. When his parents paint his old crib and high chair pink for the baby, Peter feels left out and upset. In an attempt to reclaim his space, Peter takes his old chair and tries to run away with it. However, after some reflection, Peter decides to bring the chair back home. He paints it blue and helps set up a special space for his baby sister, showing that he can share and adapt to change. The book explores themes of sibling rivalry, jealousy, and finding a sense of belonging. With Keats' signature collage-style illustrations and heartfelt storytelling, "Peter's Chair" captures the emotions and growth of a young child navigating the challenges of a growing family.
