SUMMARY

"This Very Tree" by Sean Rubin is a touching tribute and true story about 9/11 from the perspective of a brave tree. Before the 9/11 tragedy a tree was planted in between the Twin Towers in New York City so people could find shade and animals could rest. On September 11, 2001 the tree's home was destroyed but shockingly the tree somehow survived and was named the "Survivor Tree". Nursed back to health and cared for by the community, the tree was loved and eventually got to return to a new version of it's home. The "Survivor Tree" was honored and planted in the 9/11 Memorial symbolizing bravery, strength, and hope. The story "This Very Tree" is a heartwarming and touching story teaching readers about bravery, community, kindness, and resiliency.
