SUMMARY

"The Juice Box Bully" by Maria Dismondy is a thought-provoking children's book that addresses the issue of bullying. The story follows a boy named Pete who starts a new school and quickly becomes the school bully calling other kids nerds and stealing the ball. Instead of joining in, a classmate named Ruby takes a stand against the bullying by choosing to be kind to Pete and teach him the rules of the school and their team promise. Through Ruby's actions and the support of their classmates, the story highlights the importance of empathy, courage, and standing up against bullying. As the students unite, they send a powerful message that bullying is not tolerated in their school. With vibrant illustrations by Nancy Hughes, "The Juice Box Bully" encourages children to promote inclusivity, respect, and compassion in their communities. By the end of the book, Pete learns the transformative power of friendship and realizes that he can make a difference in the world by choosing kindness over cruelty.
